Our international strategy affirms our commitment to preparing today’s learners across all sectors for a global future. It reflects our ongoing work with children, young people and adults in implementing language learning, global citizenship, international education and sustainability programmes. It emphasises the importance of working closely with the international community and related organisations to share practice and build the capacity of practitioners.
Our international strategy provides an overarching framework to integrate international considerations into existing programmes of work across Education Scotland. It signals our very clear intent that international issues should not be an add-on or afterthought. Implementing the strategy requires close co-operation and co-ordination across the organisation. It also requires us to strengthen partnership working with Scottish Government and global partners, including the British Council, to promote qualitative improvements in education, and to strengthen systems here and abroad.
